How to measure your kick plate size:

Unless you have a preference as to how much clearance you wish to leave between the kick plate and the edge of the door we always advise the following:

From the pull side of your door, measure the full width of the door accurately, then deduct 12mm from your total measurement. This will leave a tidy 6mm margin each side of your kick plate to the edge of the door.

From the push side of your door, the set up is different to the pull side unless you have a double swing door in place, so you need to measure the distance between the frame jambs/slamming strips, then from that total deduct 12mm. This is the size of the kick plate that you require and will leave a tidy 6mm margin each side of your kick plate to the jamb/slamming strip.

For double swing doors, the front and back edges are rounded so a different set up again to both of the above. You need to measure the distance from the face of the door where the rounded lipping starts. Take that measurement then deduct 12mm. This will ensure that you have a tidy 6mm margin each side of the kick plate to the point where the rounded lipping profile starts.
